Depression

Depression isn’t just sadness. It can feel like a fog that dulls everything, a heaviness in the bones, or a quiet voice whispering that nothing will ever change. It can show up as exhaustion, numbness, irritability, or a loss of interest in things that once mattered. And often, it carries shame—especially when the world expects you to “snap out of it.”

Here, you don’t have to pretend. You don’t have to be “better.” You just have to be.

A Compassionate, Integrative Approach

I work with depression by meeting you where you are—with warmth, curiosity, and care. My approach blends talking therapy with body-based techniques to gently explore:

  • The emotional and relational roots of your experience
  • How depression lives in your body and nervous system
  • The impact of shame, trauma, and internalised narratives
  • Ways to reconnect with meaning, creativity, and vitality

Modalities I draw from include:

  • 🧩 Existential therapy – exploring meaning, isolation, and choice
  • 🧠 Psychodynamic therapy – understanding unconscious patterns and early relationships
  • 💬 Person-centred therapy – holding space for your voice and pace
  • 🧘 Somatic practices – gently reconnecting with the body
  • 🎯 Brainspotting and Rewind – trauma-informed tools for emotional processing

🌈 Who I Work With

I welcome anyone living with depression, especially:

  • LGBTQIA+ folks navigating identity, systemic harm, or isolation
  • Women and non-binary people facing burnout, grief, or self-criticism
  • Creatives and deep feelers struggling with meaning or motivation
  • Those whose depression is rooted in trauma, marginalisation, or chronic stress

You don’t need a diagnosis to seek support. Your experience is valid.

What Therapy Offers

In our work together, you’ll find:

  • A space where your pain is honoured, not pathologised
  • A therapist who listens deeply and responds with care
  • Tools to regulate your nervous system and reconnect with agency
  • A process that unfolds at your pace, with no pressure to “perform” healing

Therapy isn’t about fixing you. It’s about walking with you through the fog, until you begin to feel the ground beneath your feet again.
